IMEX America was held in Las Vegas this year. It was the first time the annual conference had hosted an in-person event since the pandemic. For many, it was a relief to be back networking in person and a sign of good things to come. IMEX represents all things MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events). It brings meeting and event industry professionals together from all over the globe. As the economy recovers and covid cases decrease, in-person events are making a comeback. With over 4,000 attendees, IMEX proved exactly that.
As San Francisco Media Group, we have a long history and have recently rebranded to reflect the company we have evolved into. During the pandemic, we pivoted like many companies to meet the demands of the ever-changing market. Our experience with live in-person events such as the Northern California Emmys and others helped us shift to live streaming virtual and hybrid events. With our video production and broadcast expertise, we started supporting businesses and organizations that needed that type of support. With hybrid events being the new norm and the benefits that video provides to events, video production now plays a crucial role in the future of events. We chose to do IMEX to share and build awareness of our capabilities on how we can supplement event production with our years of experience and knowledge in video production.
What We Learned
Anytime we interacted with others, it was apparent that everyone was excited for and missed in-person events. However, it does not mean hybrid and virtual will go away. Hybrid events will continue to be predominant. Virtual will linger for a while longer. One of MPI’s sessions on Meetings Outlook demonstrated that in-person attendance is expected to increase. The business outlook is very favorable, proving what we are seeing and hearing throughout the conference.
We also found that many people are not aware of the extent of our capabilities in video production and how we play a role in major events. Since various companies do live streaming or offer software platforms, it can get a bit confusing when it comes to planning a virtual or hybrid event.
Our Role in Events
We do anything from small to large video production, whether a segment of an event or the entire event pre-recorded or live-streamed. And because we are not limited to our studio, we can travel anywhere in the US or internationally or even work with other video production companies based in another location. We have live-streamed and pre-recorded on-screen talent from different locations in the past without issues. We are very familiar with this because of our expertise in video production and broadcast. For example, we shot an interview for a well-known brand where we used our green screen to make it look as if the on-screen talent in our studio was in the same room as another person in a different country. With our resources and knowledge, our video capabilities have an extensive range.
